Press Shop Case Study 2—Coils
The Brief
Our customer had a specific requirement for a coil to be made from 8 mm Stainless Steel. The product performs a specialist function in the operation of a range of their products and needed to be consistent in dimension and performance. Our solution needed to meet a monthly demand of at least 7,000 units.
The Solution
To satisfy the design requirement, we had to design a special purpose machine that would enable us to coil the product consistently.
To do this, we designed a machine that would coil the component to a pre-determined point and then reset to restart the cycle.
The product goes through two more pressings and a coating operation.
