Case Study—Boat Kits
The Brief
We were approached by a customer to cut specific profiles from aluminium plates with thicknesses ranging for 8 – 20 mm; the profiles to be used for boat kits.
The Solution
Due to the length of the profiles required, we utilised the full extent of the water-jet bed—3 m x 1.5 m. By so doing, we were able to maximise the nesting software, optimising material usage on each plate.
As the customer required the finished profiles to be stored at their premises, we labelled each profile with a part description, a visual view of the part and a bar code. This helped to speed up the customer’s goods inwards, stock management and identification procedures, and ultimately their productivity.
